Nariel Valley, Tintaldra, Lucyvale, Berringama, Towong Upper, Shelley, Walwa, Koetong and Cudgewa are impacted by the outage.
Tallangatta's SES unit is on the scene assisting the incident near Shelley Road.
Power is not expected to be restored until mid-afternoon on Saturday.
