The tender from A.P. Delaney & Co for the contract sum of $2,850,500 was unanimously accepted by councillors this week with a contingency amount of $427,575 ahead of four other rival submissions.
Civil works include earthworks, access roads, intersection works at Baranduda Boulevard, drainage infrastructure, car parks, footpaths, shared paths and services including water, sewer and electrical works.
A.P. Delaney previously constructed Baranduda Boulevard for council.
There is a "high risk" that unsuitable material may be found on-site during construction, leading to the contingency sum being included.
