Towong Shire will feature in the season finale of the SBS series, Trail Towns, this weekend.
Former mountain bike world champion and homegrown hero Paul van der Ploeg and riding enthusiast Dieter Kahsnitz visited Towong Shire during May to film the episode.
The show's co-hosts tested out some of the best road and gravel riding from Corryong to Tallangatta, and down to the Mitta Valley.
They also visited iconic tourist locations such as the Great River Road Art installations, the Man from Snowy River Museum, Old Tallangatta Lookout and Hume and Dartmouth Dams.
The co-hosts finally stopped off at some of Towong Shire's cafes, hotels and breweries, meeting Upper Murray residents and business owners along the way.
"I was devastated to see the bushfires in Victoria's high country this summer," van der Ploeg said at the time.
"Fortunately for cycling the majority of rail trail, gravel and road riding routes are unaffected and all seven mountain bike parks are open.
"My thanks goes to the firefighters and volunteers who have protected the region.
"These fires have really impacted local businesses and communities, so roll on back to the high country."
