Chief executive Neil Aird said signs were positive the state could soon reopen.

"I think everyone has done the right thing and things are on track so the lockdown should be eased," he said.

However, Mr Aird believed some restrictions, such as mandatory face masks and social distancing, would remain.

Benambra MP Bill Tilley said lockdown should be lifted as planned.

"Always live in hope in relation to the liberties we have here in the border bubble," he said.

It's expected the Victorian government will announce on Monday whether the lockdown will be extended.

On Saturday, chief health officer Brett Sutton said masks and crowds at sporting events would be reviewed in light of the Delta variant.

"I feel like we're on track, I have been surprised in the past pleasantly and unpleasantly I hope this weekend brings us further good news."
