Police will have multiple dedicated units checking Covid tests have been undertaken as people head to North East ski resorts.
Mt Hotham and Falls Creek staff will also have checkpoints set up to ensure those attending the mountains have returned a negative test in the previous 72 hours.
Senior Sergeant Doug Incoll said the measures aimed to prevent outbreaks at the ski fields, which could be evacuated and closed if an outbreak occurred.
"The validity of these tests will be checked properly by the police, you clearly need to make sure you present your own Covid tests," he said.
"It mitigates the likelihood of an outbreak."
Police prevented people with false test results, and those from banned areas, from entering resorts earlier in the ski season before new lockdowns were implemented.
Senior Sergeant Incoll urged people to check restrictions on the day they head to the resorts given how quickly they can change.
"People will need to have a text message or some other proof they've had a negative Covid test in the last 72 hours, otherwise they won't be permitted access to the resorts.
