Lifts are spinning again after the Victorian lockdown lifted overnight; all guests, including those from our local communities, planning to visit the resort are required to return a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours of visiting.

Meteorologist Tom Delamotte said a severe weather warning remains current for damaging winds across Victoria today, mostly around the high country.

"We've seen strong northerly winds across southern and mountain parts of Victoria overnight - gusts were as high as 122 kilometres per hour at Mount Hotham," hes said.

"You will see the strong gusts continue today; they're going to be associated with showers and thunderstorms ... today across much of Victoria.

"When those showers and storms move through."

Mr Delamotte said minor flooding was continuing in the North East.

"It does look like we're going to see further falls and around 10 to 15 millimetre along the North East ranges today - that's going to see that minor flooding through those catchments continue ... into the weekend," he said.

He said caution was needed on the drive up to resorts.
