THE Wangaratta Festival of Dance this weekend has been cancelled.
Organisers abandoned the rescheduled second weekend of the festival at Wangaratta Performing Arts Centre on Tuesday night in light of ongoing COVID restrictions.
They cited venue capacity, COVID marshalling, extra venue cleaning, ticketing, program changes and travel restrictions for the decision.
"There has been a great deal of hard work behind the scenes by the committee and venue," they said.
"However, our duty of care is to our dancers and their families, adjudicators, and volunteers and the health and safety of our local community."

Entrants will be refunded in the coming weeks.
WFOD will run a Mini Solo competition on Saturday, September 18, and a Mini Troupe competition on Sunday, September 19.
