We Will Rock You - the musical by Queen and Ben Elton - opened at Albury Entertainment Centre on Friday night with the audience already capped at 50 per cent for the seven-show season under NSW government regulations.

Monday's changes to Border Bubble restrictions mean Victorians can no longer cross the border to go to the last four shows of the season on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Centre Stage Event Company director Tim McLaren said on Monday that he was disappointed by the Victorian government's decision.

"Time and time again the Border region is being ignored by our state leaders; we are the collateral damage!" he said.

"There is a lot of time and money that goes into presenting blockbuster performances like We Will Rock You so to lose a very large percentage of our ticket sales at the 11th hour is very disheartening."

The last four previously sold-out shows will go on with audiences limited to NSW residents.

McLaren said they stood to lose as many as 1000 ticket sales if they could not be reallocated this week.

He said some family members of the cast living south of the border who planned to go to the closing show on Saturday night would now miss out.

"We really hope that NSW residents will support the show and book tickets," McLaren said.

"Please, please, please buy a ticket and support the arts and live music community on the Border; we need your support more than ever.

"We've worked for three years to get this off the ground so it would be disappointing to have a 25 or 35 per cent house."

McLaren said sadly they didn't even have options to livestream or video the performance.

"We can't even film the show because of copyright laws," he said.

We Will Rock You runs on Thursday at 7.30pm, Friday at 8pm and Saturday at 2pm and 8pm.

HotHouse Theatre has postponed its Season 2021: Part Two opening show in Wodonga next week.

Award-winning play Prima Facie by Suzie Miller was scheduled to run at the Butter Factory Theatre from August 11-14.

Tickets will be reallocated once new show dates are confirmed.

Alternatively, ticket holders can swap to another date if necessary.
