Caponecchia's physio raised concerns and he travelled to Melbourne for an MRI scan, which thankfully revealed a less serious medial collateral ligament injury.
"We were worried and so was he but now he's got that news, he's a lot happier," Savoys co-coach Rob Caponecchia said.
