The trio were all armed with box cutters when they approached the two teenage victims in the Kiewa Street car park on June 2, 2020.
A boy who had his scooter and backpack stolen immediately called his father, who rushed to the scene in his car and confronted the robbers at the corner of Hanel and Wilson streets, East Albury.

But he lost sight of them when two fled north and the third, a then 15-year-old who has pleaded guilty in Albury Children's Court over the robbery, fled south.
Soon after he again came across that third boy, who still had his son's scooter, on the Dean Street pedestrian bridge.
He dropped the scooter and ran off, but not before the father was able to take his photograph.
The Springdale Heights youth, now 16, admitted to 21 charges stemming from the incident and unrelated matters, including the theft of a motorbike from out the front of West End Plaza.
These included robbery in company, dishonestly obtain property by deception and multiple charges of having stolen goods in custody.
Magistrate Richard Funston said it was crucial the court knew "exactly what's going on" with the boy, so ordered the preparation of a Youth Justice report, for sentencing on September 30.
Police told the court he had a "significant" criminal history for his age and that "as of late, the young person has come under police notice for a range of adverse matters," with several investigations still outstanding.
He and the two other boys went to the second level of the car park, where they approached the two victims.
The youngest boy pulled out his box cutter and held it towards the pair while demanding one of the victim's "stuff".
Police said the three stood in a semi-circle surrounding the victims "in a threatening manner", then the second boy, aged 14, warned the boy with the scooter he would "have his throat cut if he did not comply".
