Two more rounds are left to be played, but there's a host of catch-up games across all divisions also pencilled in, which will create a feast of hockey to finalise the ladders.

HAW president Bert Eastoe believes it's important all teams in contention get the chance to qualify for finals.

"Particularly in division one men and division three men where there's two teams sitting just outside the top four and can still make the finals," Eastoe said.

"We're having to schedule catch-up games and have said they have to be played on these particular nights and all the clubs have been cooperative in doing it. It's going to be a fairly heavy workload for some, but we hope most will get through it.

"We'll end up playing at least 75 per cent of the games that we were scheduled to play in the normal home and away competition.

"We feel given we've got to the threshold of 75 per cent, it's a legitimate season and everybody has had a chance to make a pitch for finals."

HAW will keep its traditional three-week finals series in place for now, but Eastoe said they're prepared to modify it if COVID intervenes again
