The Blues were in sixth spot heading into the weekend, but could have slipped to seventh with a loss and a win for Goorambat.
Greta made sure that never entered into the equation with a 14.17 (101) to 8.10 (58) result against the young Hoppers.
Daniel Cassidy led the way with nine majors for the visitors, while Cameron Newbold and Aaron Morham were standouts.
Goorambat finished a game outside the six after its 17.14 (116) to 7.8 (50) loss away to Benalla All Blacks.
The Bats were never really in the hunt as Benalla led by 41 at the first change and extended it to 60 at the last change.

Milawa completed an unbeaten home and away season with a 24.24 (168) to 2.4 (16) dismantling of King Valley.
Bonnie Doon secured second spot with a strong second half to see off Bright, 12.14 (86) to 7.8 (50).
Tarrawingee remained third as it came from behind to defeat Whorouly, 12.15 (87) to 10.7 (67), while North Wangaratta had the bye.
The final ladder is: Milawa 54, Bonnie Doon 44, Tarrawingee 40, Bright 34, Benalla All Blacks 32, Greta 28, Goorambat 24, Whorouly 20, North Wangaratta 8, Moyhu 8, King Valley 4.
Tarrawingee will face Greta, while Bright takes on Benalla All Blacks in next weekend's elimination finals.
