Billie Muggivan has eclipsed her fundraising goal twice, having collected more than $2300 so far.
In the first three hours of her fundraiser she smashed her initial goal of $1000.
"I wanted to do this because I learnt about the wig library and at school they told us to do kind words and kind actions," Billie said.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Her mother Natasha Muggivan said once Billie learnt all about people needing wigs after cancer treatment there was no stopping her from helping out.
"When I said to her that it's people like her, with lots of hair that donate, she wanted to sign up straight away," Mrs Muggivan said.
"She pretty much wanted me to cut it then and she thought we could just go out the front and make like a lemonade stand and sell it."
Mrs Muggivan said she was worried Billie might change her mind and decide she didn't want to cut her hair, so she held off on making the fundraising page for a few weeks.
"I was a bit worried because her hair is so long she gets compliments on her hair all the time," she said.
"I waited and asked her every day for three weeks until I bit the bullet and did it.
"But she was very much like, 'Mum, stop asking me, let's do this already'."
