The O and M lost five games this year, due to COVID, robbing the defender of the chance to pass league Hall of Famers Dennis Sandral and Darrell Spencer.
The dynamic duo boast 333 games with the Roos, with the defender a game behind.
Kuschert was quizzed if he would now play next year.
"I'm going to have to, aren't I at this stage?," he quipped.
"It's one of those things, you don't want to break it, but it would be nice to have that record.
