Restaurants, bars and hotels are pivoting to new business models as the coronavirus outbreak escalates.
Albury CBD bar Temperance and General is serving takeaway cocktails and bar food for the second week in a row, having closed its doors for dining-in under the statewide lockdown on August 14.
Temperance and General director and licensee Gemma Makeham said she was prepared to tackle the challenges of the present restrictions and pivot to a different business model.
"I couldn't sit back and just be beaten by this," she said.
"And not just that, the people of Albury might be locked down at home but it doesn't mean they don't still want to enjoy the finer things of life, and now they don't have to make those sacrifices."
IN OTHER NEWS:
Since the takeaway option was introduced last week, the bar has had an overwhelming response with cocktail orders.
"I am blown away by the orders that have come in," Ms Makeham said.
"It's reassuring to know the local community gets behind locally-owned businesses, as well as just having that confirmation from the outset that our business decision was the right one."
The bar is offering takeaway cocktails and a limited menu at the bar window in Amp Lane between 4pm and 6pm Wednesdays and Thursdays and 4pm and 7pm Fridays and Saturdays.
Albury CBD eatery South Cali Cantina is offering takeaway cocktails and Mexican fare under the lockdown.
Its sister restaurant, DinDins, is offering a takeaway menu, beer and wine under the lockdown.
The service runs Wednesday to Saturday with pick-up or delivery via Doordash.
