Just 22 of the 61 new cases were in isolation while they were infectious, with 39 active in the community.
48 of the cases are linked to known outbreaks, 13 are mystery cases.
The Department of Health said an additional 16 local cases had been recorded on a rapid PCR testing platform and would be reported in tomorrow's numbers.
Across the border Murrumbidgee Local Health District has revealed a Lachlan Shire resident has tested positive to COVID-19.
The woman visited locations in Lake Cargellico and Hillston while infectious on Monday.
MLHD requests anyone who was at the locations of concern listed below during these times to come forward for testing:
- Lake Cargelligo - St Mary Pharmacy Monday 16 August between 9.50 am and 9.55 am
- Lake Cargelligo - IGA Monday 16 August between 9.55 am and 10.05 am
- Lake Cargelligo - FISHO'S Hot Bake and Takeaway Monday 16 August between 10.05 am and 10.15 am
- Hillston - The Shed on Lachlan Monday 16 August between 11.20 am and 11.50 am
Yesterday, Goulburn Valley Health revealed 17 people in Shepparton tested positive to COVID-19.
The origin of the infectious in the community is still unknown.
