Corowa's NSW Country all-rounder Ben Mitchell will play as a specialist batsman for at least the first month as he recovers from a serious shoulder injury.

Mitchell ruptured his left AC joint while playing Oztag in Canberra three months ago.

"I was lucky enough to avoid surgery, I had five X-rays in three weeks, just to see how it was progressing."
Mitchell joined Corowa in its debut season at provincial level, where it made finals.
He had played against Corowa coach Jarryd Hatton, but then played with the left-arm speedster for ACT-NSW Country Comets.
"I'm really keen to watch Corowa evolve and watch everyone improve, now that everyone's got a taste of it, myself included, we know what to expect and we'll be a lot better," he explained.
Of course, COVID will dictate when the season starts.
