The Tallangatta and District league's finals series is on a knife's edge after the league's executive committee met on Monday night.
The executive committee put forward two motions which clubs have until Thursday morning to vote on.
The first motion was to postpone a condensed finals series until September 11.
The league is committed to finals but I think most people agree it gets tougher as each day ticks by.

The format of the condensed finals series remains to be determined.
The second motion was to cancel the finals series with no premiership awarded.
League operations manager Gavin Rendell said the decision hinged on both the Victorian and NSW governments exiting lockdown.
The NSW regional lockdown is now set to end at 12:01am on Saturday.
While regional Victoria remains in lockdown until at least September 2.
"The decision is based on both states exiting lockdown on the scheduled date," Rendell said.
"The first hurdle will be the NSW lockdown on Saturday.
"Then it will be the same again next Thursday in Victoria.
"Playing on September 4 isn't a realistic option because club's still aren't allowed to train at the minute.
"The league is committed to finals but I think most people agree it gets tougher as each day ticks by."

The league hasn't played since July 10.
It will be nine weeks between matches if the finals series can commence on September 11.
Rendell said some clubs had expressed concerns about the motivational levels of players after more than two months on the sidelines.
"After having not played and with still so much uncertainty about finals going ahead it's tough on all players and clubs," he said.
"If everything goes to plan and we can get a finals series underway on September 11 it would have been nine weeks since clubs last played.
"It's a long time.
"But as I said the league is committed to a finals series if the clubs vote in favour of going down that path."
