Planning a weekend getaway or a short holiday has never looked more enticing and in the region of Albury Wodonga and surrounds we are spoilt for choice of beautiful places to visit and enjoy.
Whilst we can't enjoy that luxury at this very moment it could be a time to think out of the box and list some places in your own 'backyard' that you have never visited. Have you been to Tumbarumba, Tumut or Corryong recently? Do you know about the art trails around Lockhart? Have you experienced Winton Wetlands?
And when was the last time you planned a hike in a national park? Did you know we have one of the largest in our midst with the Woomargama National Park spreading over 60,000 hectares?
Read through this edition of Out and About and create a list of your top five places to go when we are allowed to travel and explore again.
We have 32 pages of ideas for you to consider.
When was the last time you planned a lazy day out exploring historic Chiltern? This town is enjoying a revival of sorts and has new retail outlets and cafe's to discover. And have you been to the Murray Art Museum in Albury? There's plenty happening there over spring.
Unfortunately, we have lost a few events as a result of the pandemic and the Walbundrie Show, featured on page 12, has been cancelled.
We have highlighted a few other festivals within our pages but encourage you to check, double check and triple check if the Bright Spring Festival, the North East Food and Wine Festival (Wodonga) and The Glenrowan Trails, Tastings and Tales are still going ahead.
Stay positive people, and let's keep dreaming about brighter days ahead and the joy of exploration and discovery.
