So far 13 nominations have been received.
"There's been a wide variety of sports so far," Sport Albury Wodonga vice-president Greg Featonby said.
He hopes nominations continue to come in, with September 30 the cut-off date.
"Over the last 16 years there's been a lot of people who have gone away and represented Australia in different sports overseas or won Australian titles," he said.

"We're looking for sporting clubs to get behind it and nominate as many people as they can."
The Hall of Fame is open to athletes, umpires, coaches and officials who have been involved at an elite level.
From the nominees, 10 will be selected for induction into the Hall of Fame.
The awards night is scheduled to be held in Albury on November 20.
