The news came on the same day that the Ovens and Murray Football Netball League cancelled its season, due to COVID, with no premierships awarded.

"The league had hoped it would be able to complete the finals series, albeit without crowds, however, it has become clear over the last 24 hours that it will not be possible," O and M chairperson David Sinclair revealed.

The Victorian Government announced on Wednesday regional areas, apart from Shepparton, would come out of lockdown, allowing for training, but not community sport.

"Competition would see people moving around communities and potentially around regional Victoria, whereas if you're just training we know that is excellent for mental health and community and can be the same people operating almost like within a bubble because it's the same people turning up for training," Deputy Secretary of Victoria Health's COVID-19 Response Division, Nicole Brady, offered.

The Victorian Government hasn't put a return date on community sport.

Mr Barilaro said: "Community sport will, in my mind, return when we get to 80 percent double vaccination across the state.

"That could probably be early to mid-November."

The Australian Government's COVID-19 Vaccine Roll Out says 42.7 percent of NSW's eligible population was fully vaccinated.

Cricket Albury-Wodonga was due to start on October 9.
