BJR announced in June that Percat had signed a new deal, taking his tenure beyond the end of 2022, but it's now believed the 32-year-old is bound for Walkinshaw Andretti United where he will partner with Chaz Mostert.
Percat joined the team in 2017 and went on to start 134 races for two race wins, seven podium finishes and a pole position.
BJR also announced yesterday that Andre Heimgartner will join them as Percat's replacement.
Heimgartner will move across from Kelly Grove Racing where he is a multiple place-getter and race winner, having won at The Bend earlier this year.
"Andre is young but has a wealth of experience having already had four years in Supercars," Jones said.
"He drove for us at the Gold Coast in 2017, when Ash Walsh was unwell, and did an outstanding job.
ALSO IN SPORT:
"Just as importantly, he fitted in really well with the team. He's got a great temperament and there's a lot for us to be exited about having Andre on board.
"We are used to change, it's the nature of any team sport.
"The important thing is that you ensure that the change is an improvement on where you are currently at, so next year is looking really good for us."
