Corbie Walpole lashed-out while coming to the aid of her partner, who security guards were trying to remove from Beer Deluxe.
He, too, was heavily intoxicated, Albury Local Court has heard, and his girlfriend reacted badly to security using force when he resisted.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Defence lawyer Jason Hanke has told magistrate Richard Funston that Walpole's offending in the early hours of May 10 was "completely out-of-character for her".
Mr Hanke said Walpole, 20, became involved after her boyfriend was approached by security because of his level of intoxication.
"She became argumentative," he said.
"She became involved in that discussion, she didn't want her boyfriend to be ejected."
Mr Hanke said the blow to the victim's face was an inadvertent contact by Walpole when she tried to free herself from the hold of a male friend, who had put his arms around her to try to calm her down.
"This is very distressing for her to be here today," he said of Walpole's court appearance.
"(The assault) was a momentary act; it wasn't planned, it was reckless."
Walpole pleaded guilty to a single charge of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
The court was told how Walpole's boyfriend was approached by security staff at 12.51am "as they saw he was too intoxicated to continue to be served".
When Walpole got involved they were both asked to leave, but instead they became argumentative and refused to budge.
A one point, security workers began to push him towards the exit.
She "became upset and distressed" when she saw her boyfriend, who was still resisting, have an arm pulled behind his back and his head wrenched backwards.
Walpole was placed on a 12-month conditional release order, without conviction.
