Jill Tucker has overseen eisteddfods right across Australia and abroad and said some of the talent on display at the two-day event "would more than hold their own" at top national events.
"In the 16 years and under, it was very strong competition and they've been very polished performers as well," Ms Tucker said.
"We've seen mimes, readings, character recitals, poetry. There's been a variety of work.
"This morning we saw under-sixes, so to start something like this at such a young age is beneficial because they don't necessarily get the thought of stage fright at this age.
"They get the skills and familiarity with it before that kicks in.
"You want to encourage them and reinforce their skills to build up their confidence so they can grow and continue on.
IN OTHER NEWS:
"I think it's important to try and keep these events going if we can because it gives a focus for the children to work towards.
"We're building the communicators of the future. With so much online involvement, I think learning these skills is going to set these children and adults apart as they continue."
The program, organised by Border speech and drama teacher Jan Skinner, was put back from August to September due to regional lockdowns in NSW and Victoria.
