Beechworth police are urging people to be wary of people selling stolen tools on social media sites after two vehicles were targeted.

A nail gun, socket set, hammer drill, angle grinder, circular saw and batteries were stolen from a vehicle on Tanswell Street between 10pm on Tuesday and 7.10am on Wednesday.
The items had been inside a toolbox on the back of a utility.
A ute toolbox was also targeted on Elgin Road the same night, with various items in a green container taken.
Leading Senior Constable Andrew Deegan urged anyone with CCTV footage to contact police.

"People should also do their best when purchasing tools on social media sites to make sure they're legitimate," he said.
"If they don't appear to be legitimate, they should let us know."
