Two Beechworth eateries, Lemongrass Cafe and Chinese Village Restaurant closed earlier this week after contact with a positive COVID case from Sydney, while Treat's Cafe in the Wangaratta Post Office Arcade followed suit on Thursday afternoon.
Owners of both the Beechworth businesses confirmed on Facebook on Thursday afternoon all staff had returned negative COVID tests and will begin the process to reopen, which includes a deep clean of the premises.
Albury Wodonga Health chief executive officer Michael Kalimnios said after detailed contact tracing, he's confident the sites in question are low risk.
"There's certainly been a number of restaurants across North East Victoria that have had a visit from a particular truck driver who was COVID positive," he said.
IN OTHER NEWS:
"We are not likely to declare any exposure sites. The sites in Beechworth were not actually formal exposure sites.
"What has happened there are businesses have been contacted to let them know that they've had a visit from a COVID-positive person and as per normal protocol the businesses are then asked to contact staff and others to get tested if they have any symptoms.
"There's been no further identified positive COVID cases from any North East context."
Mr Kalimnios didn't make any suggestion as to whether Wodonga and the North East should follow suit with Albury's lockdown.
"It's the nature of the Border community we have, but it's going to be a decision for the government to make and we'll need to manage it as it comes," he said.
"It will be unfortunate, challenging and everyone in the Border community knows the difficulties we face, which are somewhat unique in this part of the world, but we'll see how that transpires over the next few days."
More than 1000 vaccines were administered by Albury Wodonga Health on Wednesday at the Wodonga vaccination hub and a pop-up clinic in Albury, which Mr Kalimnios said was a record.
