Campbell, aged 19 and part of Australia's next generation of quicks seeking to make their mark in coming weeks, finished her side's leading wicket-taker in a 36-run win on Saturday.

Campbell's haul of 3-38 included the key scalp of opener Shafali Verma, who steered a delivery to keeper Alyssa Healy in the 50-over tune-up.

Australia, who head to Mackay on Sunday ahead of Tuesday's series-opening ODI, amassed a total of 9-278 then restricted their rivals to 7-242 in Brisbane.

Australia's spearhead Megan Schutt and star spinner Jess Jonassen are missing the entire multi-format series, while fast bowler Tayla Vlaeminck is being carefully managed and won't play in the one-dayers or Test.

It has presented an ideal chance for Campbell and fellow young guns to shine at the start of Australia's busy 11-month stretch that also includes an Ashes series, ODI World Cup and Commonwealth Games tournament.

"It's been awesome to be part of this group, they've been really welcoming," Campbell said.

"I'm just here to do my best and show them what I can do.

"I'm having fun.

"I felt pretty good today, like I had good rhythm ... I was able to go out there and do what I do best."

Coach Matthew Mott, concerned about a congested schedule and fact that most of the 18-strong squad are coming off a fortnight of hotel quarantine, has indicated the fast-bowling workload will be shared in coming weeks.

Allrounder Ellyse Perry, who has returned to new-ball duty in the rejigged attack, recorded figures of 2-38 on Saturday.

Perry scored one from three deliveries, while stars Rachael Haynes (65), Meg Lanning (59) and Beth Mooney (59) enjoyed more productive stints at the crease while shaking off the rust.

Lanning's side, seeking to extend a record 24-match ODI winning streak, haven't played or assembled for a training camp since their tour of New Zealand ended in April.
