Newton has signed a one-year deal with the Magpies, having just completed her first season with the club.
The talented defender had spent three years prior as a training partner with Melbourne Vixens.
"It was different because it was my first year as a fully contracted player, but I loved it," she said.
Collingwood finished the Suncorp Super Netball fixture in sixth spot, in what was another challenging season.

"You can't really compare this year to last year, because last year we knew we were going away to a set location for a set period of time," Newton said.
"This year we went here, there and everywhere and it was a bit uncertain.
"I think as a group you bond through the mayhem, and if anything it brings you closer."
The league also announced a landmark pay deal earlier this month.
