In October COVID-19 restrictions saw the show postponed for a second time until November 2021, but RTP representative Annette Challis said it would now run in November 2022, more than two years after the initial booking.
"It's just not the right environment we didn't think at the moment, too uncertain, too big a risk to be looking at putting it on," she said.
IN OTHER NEWS:
"You just don't know when cases flare up again and they do these snap lockdowns, it just really disrupts the cast being able to get together for in person rehearsal."
Ms Challis said the cast would resume rehearsals closer to the new date.
"They are still on board and enthusiastic to bring this production to life, I think we're very lucky that its just a very small cast for the Willow, so they're wanting to bring this production," she said.
But she said there were other challenges facing the production.
"You have to keep applying for the license rights," she said.
"You have to give them up and reapply and hope that you're able to secure them again and then of course lining up the venue.
"And at the moment we still have our cast on board, but it's a year away and if anything happens, it may mean that if circumstances change for any of the cast then we'll be looking at saying we'll need someone to fill this role."
Ms Challis said RTP wanted the show to draw tourism to the region.
"We just thought we'd wait until the roadmap had opened up a little bit so people can come into the area and enjoy live theatre and of course feel safe in doing so," she said.
Ms Challis said this was the third Revolution Theatre production that had been postponed since the pandemic.
"We're very disappointed that we've had to do this," she said.
"We haven't been able to get a production off the ground since 2019, this is our third production that we've had to post pone and reschedule."
Harvey and Priscilla Queen of the Desert, the Musical were also rescheduled.
