A Wodonga councillor is hoping not to be sidelined from future deliberations on Junction Place any longer after revealing his association with the precinct and its developer ceased in 2016.

Cr Ron Mildren has declared a conflict of interest on matters relating to the former railway land due in part to being employed by its developer Clinton Williams.
Cr Mildren operates a town planning business from his Wodonga base.

"It is five years since I or my business has had any association with the Junction Place project or anyone associated with it," he said.
"I don't believe I am conflicted in any way.
"My professional qualifications from more than 30 years experience in economic development can make a constructive contribution to the development and growth of Wodonga's CBD inclusive of Junction Place."
Cr Mildren's statement comes ahead of confirmation council will determine the Dan Murphy's bottle shop application and revised Junction Plan master plan.
