The three positive Wodonga cases are all household contacts.

Albury Wodonga Health chief executive Michael Kalimnios became aware of the first case yesterday.

He said the original case was from someone who travelled from NSW to their home in Wodonga.

The two additional cases tested positive shortly after.

He said exposure sites would be shared on the Victoria Government's website.

Director of Public Health Lucie Shanahan said it was positive to see the QR code system working so well in alerting people when exposures have occurred.

She said testing sites would be open in Wodonga and Albury across the weekend.

"We're quite aware this is an anxiety provoking time in the community," she said.

But reassured residents if they were at an exposure site they would be contacted.

Ms Shanahan said the Wangaratta case had been isolating for the majority of the week.

Wodonga's Wilson St Store has been named an exposure site.

The business told residents on Facebook that they had been informed they were a tier two site.

The exposure period is from 4pm to 7pm on September 21.

The store has closed.

Woolworths has confirmed a COVID positive person attended their White Box Rise store on September 19 between 11.29am and 11.45am.

A COVID positive person also visited the supermarket giant's Wangaratta store on September 12.

The Wodonga store remains open.

"We have been notified that a customer with a confirmed case of COVID-19 was present at our White Box Rise store on Sunday 19 September," the company said in a statement.

"As a food retailer, we already have very high standards of cleaning and hygiene in place. Customers and team members should be assured they can continue to safely shop and work at our Woolworths White Box Rise store.

"Any customers who shopped in the store at this time should follow the health advice from the DHHS."

Its expected more exposure sites will be listed by the Victorian government later today.

Another Wangaratta resident has tested positive to COVID-19.

Chief Health Officer Brett Sutton said the new Wangaratta case was a household contact of the previously diagnosed case.

He said two cases of COVID were recorded in Wodonga in the 24 hours to midnight, both of whom were close contacts of a third case.

Mr Sutton said despite the cases in the region the situation was 'under control'.

He said there had been a slow and steady increase in cases in regional Victoria.

Overall there were 27 new cases in regional Victoria, including one in Shepparton and one in Moria shire, although this case was under review and would be retested today.

Yesterday, 527 Wangaratta residents were tested for COVID.

Albury Wodonga Health have confirmed three COVID positive cases in Wodonga.

The health service said one case contracted the virus after having close contact with a COVID positive case from outside the region.

The second and third cases are close personal cases of the first case.

IN OTHER NEWS:

All three cases are currently isolating at home and all their close contacts have been tested and are also in isolation.

"Contact tracing including the identification of exposure sites is underway and will continue as a primary focus," AWH said in a statement.

"Anyone identified as a close contact will be contacted directly by the contact tracing team, however we encourage everyone to continue to check the list of exposure sites for updates and get tested if you are experiencing even the mildest of symptoms.

"Exposure sites will be listed at https://www.coronavirus.vic.gov.au/case-alerts-public-exposure-sites as they are available."
