Jamie Leigh Evans, 30, has pleaded guilty in the County Court to shooting at homes on Wornes Drive, Gilbert Street and Georgina Street on September 19 and 20 last year.

Tory McGuire and Rachael Charubin were also with him as they travelled around the city, with Evans firing rounds from a .22 rifle into the properties.

Evans claimed Charubin had been threatened by notorious criminal Daniel Cameron with a gun, and that he had seen Cameron chasing another criminal and firing at him.

The trio hatched a plan to shoot into properties linked to Cameron in a bid to get him to back off.

Nobody was at home during the first shooting on Wornes Drive, but three were inside the second property on Gilbert Street when a shot was fired.

The bullet hit a fence.

Two people were inside a bedroom on Georgina Street during the final shooting, with the bullet hitting a door frame.

McGuire's car was used in the incident.

It was seized at the Wodonga Caravan and Cabin Park on Melbourne Road on September 21, and the two women were arrested three days later.

They said Evans was the shooter, and he was taken into custody the same day.

He told officers Daniel Cameron had a gun and had been threatening Charubin.

Evans also said he had seen Cameron firing at another crook in his car, and suggested he was responsible for the drive-bys.

He has pleaded guilty to three charges of reckless conduct endangering life.

The matter will return to court on November 7.
