The association is currently connected with Hockey Victoria, while the Albury-Wodonga Spitfires compete in an ACT competition.
The Spitfires previously competed in Melbourne in 2013, but after a rule was brought in that clubs had to also field reserve teams, they shifted to Hockey ACT.
Hockey Albury-Wodonga sports operations manager Cayte Campbell said the decision was always going to be revisited down the track.

A vote is scheduled to take place on October 11 to determine whether the association will be aligned with Victoria, NSW or ACT.
"We spoke to all three states and collated information to provide a comparison on cost, rep pathways and development," Campbell said.
"We just have to wait for clubs to vote on which way they would like us to go."
