The Lavington park is home to Albury-Wodonga Football Association club Melrose FC, which is set to be without changing facilities and a canteen for the start of the 2022 season.
Club president David Pye believes the building is beyond repair and the club will be forced to wait for its new facilities to be built.
"Both changing rooms are gone and there's heavy smoke damage right through to the canteen, which has probably ruined a lot of the club's equipment," he said.
"It will leave us without club rooms until they build the new ones, but I don't think they can go ahead with the new ones until after all this COVID stuff.
"The situation is we haven't got any canteen for the start of next season. It just snowballs."
Mr Pye said printers, televisions, pie warmers, a coffee machine and barbecues were among the items damaged, while the club will assess if its line-marking equipment can be salvaged.
"It's $1000 here and a $1000 there, so I would probably estimate it's $15,000 or more of our club equipment damaged," he said.
"Cupboards in the canteen were closed, but the smoke got in there and left soot all over the place.
"If I can't get the line markers cleaned up, they're worth $1500 each."
However, all of the club's playing equipment is stored in a separate container and wasn't impacted.
Mr Pye revealed it wasn't the first time the club had been affected by fire and other acts of vandalism to its facilities.
Committee member Glenn Wilson was distressed.
"It's very upsetting with all the work the volunteers put in to keep this club running so we can get kids playing sport," he said.
"We've got plans to build some new club rooms, but we don't need this."
Emergency services were called to Melrose Park at about 10.15pm on Monday after reports of a fire at the club house.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Fire and Rescue NSW extinguished the blaze by 11.45pm and there were no reports of injuries.
Murray River Police District officers attended and a crime scene was established, with an investigation under way.
"It was well alight when firefighters arrived shortly afterwards," Fire and Rescue NSW zone commander Stewart Alexander said.
"They had it under control pretty quickly, but unfortunately there's been some quite severe damage to that building."
Three fire trucks from Albury Central and North Albury brigades attended the blaze and remained on site until about 12.30am.
