Students from Kildare Catholic College in Wagga were sent home on Thursday afternoon after a member of the school community received a positive COVID-19 test result.

On Thursday afternoon, director of Catholic Education with Wagga Diocese Elizabeth O'Carrigan confirmed a member of the diocesan school community at Kildare had been diagnosed with COVID-19.
The school was closed from 2pm and will remain closed on Friday as cleaning and contact tracing is undertaken.
Parent were informed via email earlier in the afternoon, and a coordinated pick up of students by year group began just before 2pm.

Entrances to the school were closed off and a long line of cars was seen outside the main entrance.
The school was informed of the positive case on Thursday morning as Ms O'Carrigan said they are working with NSW Health to ensure strategies are in place to address any developments.
It comes as the MLHD confirmed four new cases of COVID-19 in the area in the 24 hours to 8pm on Wednesday, among them a staff member at Deniliquin Hospital.
