In an online statement put out at about 10.30am the health service said wait times already exceed the clinic's hours of operation.

"The Wodonga COVID-19 testing clinics in Smythe Street and Vermont Street are at capacity due to high demand," the statement said.

Traffic was already banked up to Gordon Street this morning.

The health service suggested residents attend alternate testing clinics at Lavington Hall, Albury Showground and the Albury Entertainment Centre.

These clinics are also experiencing huge demand and long queues.

The line at the showgrounds was already snaking onto Fallon Street at 10am.

It comes as Indie School Albury Wodonga revealed online their Albury campus was an exposure site and would be closed.

The school said a confirmed case attended the Albury site last week, but the Wodonga site was unaffected.

They did not specify what day the case attended the clinic and asked patrons to call their office for more details.

On Thursday, October 14, there was a potential exposure at Kids on Campus Early Learning Centre at Wodonga TAFE.

A confirmed COVID-19 was at Building K, from 8am to 4.30pm.

"Kids on Campus Early Learning Centre is contacting parents, students, employees and contractors who have been identified as being in Building K to notify them of the situation, explain the next steps, and to offer support," the organisation said.

"Kids on Campus Early Learning Centre, Wodonga Campus, Building K is closed for deep cleaning in accordance with our Covid Safe Plan.

"We encourage anyone who visited Kids on Campus Early Learning Centre, Wodonga Campus, Building K on Thursday 14 October 2021 to self-isolate and get a COVID-19 test."

The Department of Health will make direct contact with any identified close contacts and will advise on protocols and next steps.
