A teenager who repeatedly stabbed a man outside a Lavington property, leaving his victim with life-threatening injuries, has been jailed for eight years.

Matthew Ritchie's attack on the man led to life-saving surgery in which the victim had a section of bowel removed.
The attack was in retaliation for an earlier incident where the victim, Troy Anthony Holland, 44, allegedly slashed the neck of his ex-partner, on the evening of December 11.
Ritchie, who turned 20 about six weeks after the incident, has been
sentenced by Judge Sean Grant before the District Court in Albury.
He pleaded guilty to wounding a person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, after the Crown withdrew a charge of cause wounding and grievous bodily harm with intent to murder.
He was charged after handing himself in to police two weeks after the stabbing.
The eight-year sentence was backdated to December 31 and will expire on December 30, 2028, with a minimum of five years and eight months. That will have Ritchie eligible for release on parole on August 30, 2026.
The stabbing was described by the prosecution, in documents put before the court, as "an act of extreme violence within a public place".
Holland, 45, had gone to the Wagga Road home of his ex-partner, then 38, about 8pm.
He went inside the unit, it was outlined in Crown facts put before the court, and grabbed a black-handled kitchen knife, which he used to inflict a "severe laceration" to the side of the woman's throat.
She immediately called out to one of her sons for help. On entering the room, he saw his mother "holding her throat in pain with blood on her hands".

Russell-Wiesner began fighting with Holland outside, repeatedly punching and kicking him and leaving him with facial injuries.
Ritchie armed himself with a knife, brought to the unit by Russell-Wiesner, and stabbed Holland "five to six times" to the stomach, chest and head, "causing significant injuries". He also suffered defensive wounds to his hand.
Holland collapsed on the footpath and his assailants fled home to East Albury in a white Hyundai sedan driven by Robert Zacariah John, who will be sentenced in the District Court early next month on a charge of accessory after the fact to wounding a person with intention to cause grievous bodily harm.
Holland was rushed to hospital for surgery, then placed in an induced coma.
