A man has been freed almost three hours after becoming trapped in a piece of abattoir machinery in the Riverina.
NSW Ambulance was called to the site on Scenic Road, Young, at 9.30am on Wednesday.
Ambulance inspector Stephen Pollard said they received reports that a 32-year-old man had his leg stuck in an auger at an abattoir.
"The initial crew on scene confirmed that," he said.
"He was well and truly and wrapped into the auger. He had been extricated by 12.10pm and he has sustained significant injuries to both legs.

"He will need some extensive work done on his legs," Inspector Pollard said.
Four crews and a Toll helicopter, that has a critical paramedic and doctor, responded to the scene.
Fire and Rescue NSW crews were also on site, and Safe Work NSW has been notified.
