A Glenroy man who cut-off another motorist shortly before crashing his car into a fence had committed what was "certainly a very serious example of drink-driving".

Defence lawyer Mark Cronin told Albury Local Court magistrate that David Dyason "can't explain why he drove; he's absolutely shocked".

Dyason, 32, was placed on a 12-month community corrections order, fined $1000 and disqualified from driving for seven months after pleading guilty to driving with a high-range prescribed concentration of alcohol reading of 0.218.
Dyason had been drinking at an Albury bar on the evening of July 29.
About 12.30am the next day, he drove his car north on David Street, then "manoeuvred his vehicle in an attempt to cut another vehicle off in their lane".
This caused him to drive his car through the fence at J.C. King Park.
