In Albury, 41 new cases were recorded, while 35 were reported in Wodonga.
Albury Wodonga Health have clarified 35 new cases were recorded in the 24 hours to 8pm Sunday.
Earlier COVID response commander Jeroen Weimar said 36 cases were recorded.
"We continue to be concerned around Wodonga, (there's) a lot of work being done with our colleagues in New South Wales Health to support that growing outbreak," he said.
"There's 36 new cases in Wodonga we believe more cases are also on the other side of the border.
"There's daily work now with our colleagues in New South Wales Health; a lot of focus on vaccinating both sides of the border in that community. And my thanks to the local teams there for all the amazing work they're doing to drive that forward."
There were 11 new cases in Wangaratta, and one in Towong Shire.
In total, there were 46 new cases in the Murrumbidgee Local Health District, which includes Albury.
One case each was recorded in Greater Hume, Murrumbidgee, Coolamon, Federation and Berrigan.
There has been a total of 348 cases and two deaths recorded in the MLHD since the start of the current outbreak. These include 261 in Albury LGA, 25 in Hilltops LGA, 15 in Edward River LGA, 18 in the Greater Hume LGA, eight in Murray River LGA, seven in Federation LGA, three in Wagga Wagga LGA, seven in Berrigan LGA, one in Griffith LGA, two in Coolamon LGA and one in Murrumbidgee LGA.
The two cases recorded for the Coolamon LGA are currently in isolation outside the MLHD and have not been in the community during their infectious period.
