Albury has recorded an 18.5 per cent upswing in the double dose percentage of the eligible population for a jab to be sitting at 79.9 per cent in the latest local government area vaccination data released on Monday.

Wodonga is close behind on 78.3 per cent after making a 7.7 per cent improvement in seven days.

Both cities are also sitting at 95 per cent plus single vaccinated, joining every other nearby council area on both sides of the border.

After a sluggish start, Greater Hume has picked up the pace to be 78.6 per cent double vaccinated and 95 per cent plus single dosed.

But, Murrumbidgee Local Health District chief executive Jill Ludford revealed on Monday just 24 per cent of children aged between 12 to 15 years in Albury were fully vaccinated.

"We can really do better than that," she said.

"Let's make Albury the most vaccinated LGA for children and keep them all safe.

"Vaccination is really, really important,"

"It is our ticket to slow transmission and for us to resume our normal freedoms."

Greater Hume mayor Heather Wilton congratulated the community for jumping on board after a slow start which can, in part, be attributed to supply and access across its major towns.

"We have really ramped it and things are starting to work quite well now," she said.

"It's fantastic to hear people who really want to and can do have got their vaccinations."

Meanwhile, the operator of a Wodonga dancing studio has expressed her frustration at being mistakenly listed as a tier one exposure site at the weekend.

Kylie Romeike said she was notified her business had been listed as a tier one site on the official state government website on Friday.

The listing remained there until Saturday when she was able to convince authorities to have it removed.

"We're doing everything we can to be COVID safe," she said.

"Obviously if something had happened, fine, you do what you need to do.

"But it's when the wrong information gets out there, that's the disappointing part.

"It's no fun at all being the focus of a lot of negative attention."

Wodonga has no tier one exposure sites presently.
