Edward River's alarmingly low vaccination rates likely reflect an anomaly in data collection, rather than the true level of inoculation, health authorities believe.

Commonwealth vaccination data indicates just 67.4 per cent of people in Edward River local government area have had one dose of COVID vaccine and only 58.9 per cent were fully vaccinated.
NSW Health's vaccination data shows 80 to 90 per cent of residents in each postcode within Edward River had received one dose of vaccine.

Murrumbidgee Local Health District COVID coordinator Emma Field said the service was working with people on the ground and at a Commonwealth level in order to fix the anomaly.
She said the community in Edward River were doing a great job encouraging vaccination.
"We're aware of it and we're... doing everything we can to make sure it's as accurate as possible," she said.
"In saying that we're working in parallel in case there is some level of unvaccinated [people] we're not seeing."
