Valentines Sourdough Artisan Bakers co-owner Harry Valentine Perry said businesses and accommodation providers reported strong trade at the weekend.
"Rutherglen is booming," he said.
"You can't get a park in the main street; all of the accommodation is booked out with the majority of people coming from Melbourne.
"We have a couple of Airbnb properties and they're booked out until March.
"A lot of other operators are saying they're also booked out until March."

Mr Perry said North East operators were thrilled to welcome back Melbourne visitors.
"Everyone has been fantastic to show their vaccination certificates," Mr Perry said.
"We can now seat 30 inside and there are no caps outside."
Mr Perry said the Albury-Wodonga businesses were impacted by the present coronavirus outbreak.
