Instead, Sarimah Icely has been placed on an 18-month community correction order, with a directive she abstain from using illicit drugs.
The sentence handed down by Judge Sean Grant in the District Court in Albury on Monday included a requirement that Icely, 20, also complete 150 hours of unpaid community work.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Icely's matter was finalised on the substantive, strictly indictable charge of supplying prohibited drugs on an ongoing basis.
As part of the order, Icely, who pleaded guilty to the charge before Albury Local Court in early August, will come under the supervision of NSW Community Corrections.
She must also engage in drug rehabilitation and treatment programs as directed.
The court was told in Crown facts put before Judge Grant how Icely supplied cocaine and MDMA to a "witness" at the McDonald's restaurant on Wagga Road.
The evidence gained from each of the drug sales, involving the same witness, led to her arrest and that of her boyfriend last year.
The witness had contacted the boyfriend over the social media messaging app Snapchat on June 18, 2020, about 4.30pm.
Within minutes, the witness received a Snapchat friend request and message from Icely.
She went under the user name of "Rimah".
The first question asked by Icely was: "You chasing?"
As a result of the contact, the witness arranged with Icely to buy 1.02 grams of MDMA, or ecstasy, for $160.
This was then exchanged that evening at McDonald's.
Other deals included supplying 0.96 grams of cocaine for $350 and 1.01 grams for the same price.
