"It matters less where it goes, the significant issue is we get a new hospital, whether it's a green fields site or a brown fields site, it's not the critical point," Cr Glachan said.
"It just needs to be the best we can get and have scope for future growth and enhanced services."
Cr Glachan's comments follow the Border Medical Association and member for Indi Helen Haines pushing for a new hospital.

They coincided with her unveiling her team to contest next month's Albury Council election.
In a surprise, councillor Graham Docksey is the No.3 on her ticket after having said in July he would not be seeking another term.
Cr Docksey said he had decided to recontest after mayor Kevin Mack flagged his exit.
"The dynamics of council have now changed dramatically, Mack is not running again, (John) Stuchbery is not running again and Amanda Cohn is not running again," he said.
Cr Docksey said he did not expect to be successful, stating "I'm sitting in an unelectable position".
Usually the No.3 is unsuccessful, with a high primary vote needed to pull them through.
Cr Docksey has previously filled the No.2 spot on Cr Glachan's ticket.
This time Lindsay Pearson, who worked for 24 years in the council's engineering department, is in that position.
Mr Pearson retired in May last year after having been team leader for civil and hydraulics, a role that saw him overseeing water and sewerage infrastructure.
Cr Glachan said she first met Mr Pearson in his council role, before becoming a friend of him and his family.
Completing Cr Glachan's team in No.4 and No.5 respectively are Indian Tandoori restaurateur Naziya Singh and commercial lawyer Jackie Dunn.
Cr Glachan did not rule out seeking the mayoralty if she was re-elected, saying a bid would depend on the make-up of the new council.
Nominations to stand in the election on December 4 close at midday on Wednesday.
Councillor Murray King was unclear on Tuesday about whether he would be recontesting, but suggested it was more than likely.
Incumbents to have nominated in addition to Cr Glachan and Cr Docksey are David Thurley, Darren Cameron and Henk van de Ven.
Ballot draws for councils across NSW will be conducted at 10am Thursday.
The Albury and Greater Hume events will be held in a returning office at the old tax site in Smollett Street.
Early voting begins on November 22 at that office and Mirambeena at Lavington.
Corowa Memorial Hall will host prepolling for Federation Council.
