Regent Cinemas Albury-Wodonga will host a Q&A with the star of I'm Wanita and the director Matthew Walker on Sunday.
I'm Wanita is Walker's first feature-documentary as a writer/director.
Before directing his own film, Walker had been an Australian film and television editor for more than 15 years with 30 feature and television credits.
In 2015 he directed a short film about Wanita called Heart of the Queen, which won Best Australian Short at the Antenna Documentary Festival.
He followed Wanita's story for the next five years, culminating in the film I'm Wanita.
IN OTHER NEWS:
The film is the story of a renegade country music singer from Tamworth, hell-bent on realising her childhood dreams of stardom.
Walker has received an Australian Screen Editors Award for Best Editing: Factual and a Walkley Award for his work on ABC's Foreign Correspondent.
Regent Cinemas will show the film on Sunday at 4pm followed by the Q&A.
