Chief executive Jill Ludford said 97 per cent of those aged 16 and over in the Murrumbidgee LHD had received their first dose and 88.8 per cent were fully vaccinated.
"That is extraordinary, wow, we may even get to the 100," she said.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Ms Ludford said people aged 19 years and under make up two-thirds of Albury's COVID caseload, so it was important that children, particularly those aged 12 to 15, continue to get vaccinated.
"80.2 per cent of our children have had their first jab, which is fantastic - parents, thank you," she said.
"And we've inched up now to 58.3 per cent of those children fully vaccinated."
In the Murrumbidgee Local Health District 86.9 per cent of people aged 12 and above are fully vaccinated.
However, Ms Ludford warned residents to expect more cases in coming months.
"As we see start everyone from Victoria and Sydney driving around, as we start to prepare for Christmas, our communities should expect to see small numbers of COVID cases in their regions," she said.
"We're still very used to the messaging around elimination, where whenever there's a new case we try to track every movement and every venue. But now we're actually into living with COVID and it's all about how we can add layers of protection to how we can keep ourselves safe and to lessen the transmission in our communities."
Ms Ludford said Albury and other Riverina communities could have small outbreaks.
"But the higher our levels of protection then we're going to really reduce the impacts of transmission and also the impact on the health system," she said.
"[Albury-Wodonga] are getting visitors...so they are more vulnerable but they are a very resilient community and they have great resources there to be able to manage the virus going forward."
