Speaking at Tuesday's COVID press conference Albury Wodonga Health's executive director of public health Lucie Shanahan said most of cases in the Indigo Shire over the last few days were concentrated in Rutherglen.
"The majority of the cases within the Indigo shire are linked to Rutherglen and the known cases and the sites that we have in Rutherglen," she said.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Ms Shanahan said Albury Wodonga Health was particularly aware of the impact for Rutherglen.
"We are managing a number of cases in Rutherglen at the moment across two primary facilities," she said.
"I would just like to take the opportunity to reassure the community that the cases in Rutherglen are very well managed and they are contained and we know the linkages for each of the cases.
"We're not seeing random sporadic cases pop up in indigo shire, we do have good linkages and we're able to track each of these cases through to an origin point or to a point of acquisition, so we are confident we understand the amount of cases that are occurring.
Ms Shanahan said supports were being put in place to enable the positive cases as well as any primary close contacts of those cases to be able to isolate and quarantine at home.
