The daughter of former Hawks' star John O'Donohue spent this season travelling back from La Trobe University in Bundoora, where she is studying a Bachelor of Speech Pathology, to play netball for the club.

Her dedication has paid off with the talented goal shooter being awarded the Ovens and Murray's C-grade best and fairest, Hot Shot, and opposition coaches awards in the league's recent presentation night.

"I've been there my whole life and grew up around the club," she said.

Starting in the under-16s, O'Donohue transitioned into C-grade and has also had court time in the top two grades.

She recalls her first A-grade experience.

"It was the last game of the year and I went on against Corowa-Rutherglen," she said.

"It was a bit intimidating, but it was a great chance to see the best of the best and how you have to perform to play at that standard."

O'Donohue shot seven goals from nine attempts during her A-grade debut.

She finished the season with an accuracy rate of 78 per cent.

"I spend a lot of time under the ring all on my own just putting up goals," she said.
