Police have arrested a 40-year-old Deniliquin woman and are looking for a 16-year-old boy who is known to her, after an alleged assault.

In a statement, NSW Police said the woman was driving along Hardinge and Harfleur Streets in Deniliquin at about 12.40am last night and they recognised her as an unlicensed driver.
"Officers attempted to speak with the driver when the vehicle stopped at Russell Street," the statement said.
IN OTHER NEWS:
"It will be alleged that the woman became physically aggressive toward police - kicking, scratching and punching a male constable, before spitting into the face and mouth of a female constable."
The statement said a 16-year-old boy, known to the woman, tried to intervene before he spat on a male senior constable.
"He fled the scene and police have commenced inquiries to locate him," the statement said.
The 40-year-old Deniliquin woman was arrested and taken to Deniliquin Police Station where she subjected to a breath analysis, allegedly returning a positive reading of 0.190.
She was subsequently charged with six offences;
- drive with high range PCA,
- resist officer in execution of duty,
- assault officer in execution of duty,
- assault police officer in execution of duty cause actual bodily harm,
- drive motor vehicle while licence suspended, and,
- incite to assault police officer in execution of duty
The woman was refused bail to appear at Deniliquin Local Court today.
Inquiries are continuing to locate the boy.
